Hey cdahle.....check this out!!!!

Mama Snaps is here visiting her one and only most wonderful daughter in the universe, and we got to perusing old posts on the blog last night. I played for her our taking out the trash Carpenter style because that clip just brings me such pleasure. When she, in all her musical knowledge, tells me that it is actually a cover of an old Klaatu song. I have never heard of the band Klaatu so I immediately go to youtube and find this.

This song was released in 1977, well before the birth of this cookie, and here's the best part; on an album called Anus of Uranus. How could I not have known an album under that title existed. I am so disappointed in myself.

Anyway....one more time.....Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft.

WHY MUST YOU TORTURE ME CONTINUOUSLY????

HAVE YOU NO HEART?

If I puke anymore... I'll lose my toenails.

And they're totally cute right now.

Let me tell you why I like you Ginger. And inversely why I dislike Cleo. This song is freakin weird. But not aimlessly so. It strikes that fine balance between straight up "turn that crap off, my hair hurts and my brain is shrinking" bizzare and "what the hell was that?..... Shoot, lets play it again. I must be missing something" unique. Yeah, it's loony as all get out, but not without its charms. It takes a special group to make something that is so unlike anything else. This probably wont ever come up on my favorites playlist but I'm glad I heard it. I tip my hat to you Ginger.

Oh yeah, I don't really dislike Cleo. It's just fun to mess with her. She's been fuming since the second sentence.

The best part about this band is the name. . .

The Day the Earth Stood Still is one of the greatest Geeky Sci-Fi flicks of all time. . . (And of course I am talking about the original, not the horrific Keanu Reeves mess that came our last year. . .)

Admittedly, I would be more impressed if the band was called Gort, but I will take what I get. . .

Ha Ha!!!cdahle you are a true nerd. That's why I love you. I almost commented on The Day The Earth Stood Still but I didn't know if anyone would get it. I should have known that you would.

And I must agree Keanu Reeves... horrific!!!!The earth never even stood still. What does little metal bugs eating everything have to do with the earth standing still? I'm still bothered by my lost 8 dollars on that one.
