Do you even KNOW you just posted my most favoritest song of ALL time? I watched this movie as a kid nonstop. I'm sort of obsessed with Annie. In fact, I was turning into Annie, no lie. I had a mini sized Annie doll and I played with her all the time. I was 7. Anyhow, I've sorta always viewed Annie as a symbol of hope, even as a child. I always loved that she was a fighter and I wanted to be just like her! A few years ago, I dug up this song on i-tunes and played it non stop around here. My little Lincoln became so obsessed with it I even caught him doing interpretive dancing to it one day (he was three years old.) I'm just sayin, it's infectious, and I love it. Thanks!

amberd is it possible we are in fact the same person? minus the kids and the US passport? i was a contender for annie of my suburb circa 79. saw the show, sister had the record, played it non-stop, sang it non-stop, wanted to be her. my sister and my cousin and i sang it on the bus all day long and told people we were in the cast! fast forward 20-odd years and i met martin charnin...i also worked and became friends with annie reinking...having to pinch myself all over again! ("ouch. she didn't mean it!") i'm glad you like this song too. have you seen the doco on what happened to some of the less famous annie's? (not zeta jones, parker or ringwald) it's very interesting. anyway, i am rambling....remember, the sun will come out. even coldplay say so and they live in england! "...I have no doubt., one day the sun will come out"

sEriously? I'm super jealous. How come I don't get to meet famous people and such? Dang. I've been out of the Annie loop for a while. I did throw it on and watch it a few times last year. I'm amazed at how many lines and phrases I still know. And see, even though Annie had a fro, I wanted it. Dang, I really wish I still had that Annie doll, I think I gave her to some other snot faced little kid when I got older.

Her little red dress, her red headed fro. *sniff* I miss her. I wonder if I can find her on ebay?

I will have you know that I recieved a pipi long stalking doll for my birthday 2 years ago when I turned 30. She was from Hannah Anderson - (Swedish clothing company I believe.) But I'm sort of a doll fan. I love little things mostly. Miniatures. Annie and Pipi though, those two are at the top of my list as far as favoritest childhood memories. I was even Pipi for halloween once. I made my mom make my dress exactly like pipis and everything. Good stuff right there. Shoooot.

Do you have a link to the Annie article? Sounds fascinating.

Pipp Longstaump!!(not sure of the spelling) but the swedish tv version which my (half german) nieces adore is quite mad! her plaits are very curly - possibly with the aid of wire. check it out.

i once hosted an anne of green gabels par-tay dressed as anne with kohl freckles. i had my own but added more. i also had, ahem, the hair. tho i call it auburn b/c as far as i know i am not a tomato. those who say 'red' are no longer living. anyway i had pippi-style plaits that day too.

and as for famous types - charnin was a sleaze who bordered on alcoholism! you didn't miss anything there. but anne is heaven...as you'd expect grace to be! she's all class.

Wire is the magic ingredient! My mom used wires in my braids when I was pippi. It rocked! I had the coolest halloween costume by far! I basically outshined my third grade class....I'm just sayin...

I was not aware there was another pipi show! Youtube? I will have to check it. Shooot.
